Day 1: Glasgow up Loch Lomond’s western shore, into the Arrochar Alps, sleep around Inveraray or Oban. Day 2: Oban → Glen Coe — stop properly: the Three Sisters viewpoint, Glen Etive’s single-track detour if time allows — night in Glencoe village or Fort William under Ben Nevis. Day 3: the Road to the Isles (A830) past Glenfinnan Viaduct to Mallaig, ferry or bridge to Skye. Days 4–5: Skye’s greatest hits — Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, Fairy Pools, Neist Point — then back via Eilean Donan Castle and Loch Ness if you must. Map note for the “west coast map” searchers: the spine is simple — A82 north, A830 west, A87 to Skye; everything good hangs off those three roads.

May–June is the sweet spot: long light, fewer midges, before school holidays. September brings golden colors and quiet roads.
